One day Lulu’s neighbors were going out of town. They asked Lulu’s parents if they could leave their cat with Lulu’s family. Lulu and her parents said yes. Lulu was excited to watch the cat for a day. The neighbors brought the cat over, and also some cat food to feed the cat. Then they said goodbye and left.

Lulu walked up to the cat to say hello, but the cat ran under the bed. Lulu went over to the bed and tried to get the cat to come out. Lulu had a little stick with a string on it. And at the end of the string was a small bell. Lulu shook the bell to try and have the cat come out to play with the bell.

But the cat ran out from the other side under the bed. Then the cat ran into the kitchen. Lulu followed the cat to the kitchen to see where it was. The cat jumped on top of the refrigerator. Lulu could see where the cat was, but it was too high up there. Then Lulu got a chair and put it next to the refrigerator.

Lulu stood on the refrigerator and tried to reach up to the cat. As Lulu reached up, the cat jumped off the refrigerator and ran out of the kitchen. Lulu put the chair back and went to look for the cat. She saw the cat run into the bathroom. When Lulu walked into the bathroom, she couldn’t see the cat anywhere.

Then she moved the shower curtain to the side, and saw the cat sitting in the empty bathtub. Lulu held the stick with the bell on a string, and waved it in front of the cat, to get the cat’s attention. But the cat jumped up on top of the shower curtain rod. From there the cat jumped over and behind Lulu, and ran out of the bathroom.

Lulu tried to turn around quickly to catch the cat, but she just fell down. Then Lulu saw the cat near an open window. And there was a tree outside the window, with some branches that reached near the window. The cat jumped out the window and onto the tree branches. Lulu couldn’t go out the window, so she took her scooter and quickly went downstairs.

She went to the tree and saw the cat on a branch. Lulu tried to wave the bell on the string to attract the cat’s attention. But the cat just jumped off the tree branch and on top of a parked car. Lulu scooted towards the parked car. As she got close to it, somebody got in the car and started to drive it away.

The cat was still on top of the car, sitting on the roof. Lulu quickly rode her scooter behind the car. When the car came to a stop sign, the cat jumped off. Then the cat ran into a house nearby that had the door open. The people who lived there were just coming home and were walking through the door when the car ran past their feet and went inside.

Lulu had an idea and went to get a box, and a packet of cat food. Then Lulu came back and knocked on the people’s door. They opened the door, and Lulu told them that the cat she was taking care of ran into their house. Lulu asked if she could try to get the cat back. The people let Lulu in and she put the box on the floor.

Then she opened the packet of cat food, and put it inside the box. Lulu took a step back and watched. After a few minutes the cat poked its head around the corner. And Lulu was hiding behind the sofa, and watching the cat. Then the cat ran into the box and started eating the cat food. Lulu quietly walked towards the box, and then she quickly closed the lid.

Now the cat was inside the box. Lulu thanked the people and picked up the box with the cat inside. Lulu went back home and closed the window. This time the cat couldn’t just run outside. Lulu opened the box and saw the cat had eaten all the cat food. Then Lulu sat down and watched the cat.

After a few minutes, the cat came out of the box and sat down next to Lulu. Lulu had some more cat food in her pocket, and she held it out to the cat. The cat ate out of Lulu’s hand. Then it was time for dinner. Lulu was glad that she had followed the cat and found it.

After dinner Lulu got read for bed and brushed her teeth. Then Lulu laid down and the cat laid down near her. As Lulu closed her eyes, she could hear the cat purring, and they both went to sleep, slowly slowly slowly.
