One day mommy giraffe walking home through the forest with baby giraffe walking beside her. Mommy giraffe saw some friends on her walk and stopped to talk to them. While mommy giraffe was talking to her friends, baby giraffe saw a mouse on the ground and started to chase it. The mouse ran around a tree.
And baby giraffe chased the mouse around the tree. The mouse ran around some rocks. And baby giraffe chased the mouse around the rocks. The mouse ran under some bushes and baby giraffe ran around the bushes to try and find it. But the mouse wasn’t on the other side of the bushes.
And then baby giraffe started to eat the leaves on the bush to reach the bottom of the bush near the ground. When he ate enough leaves on the bush to see the ground, baby giraffe saw that there was a hole in the ground. The mouse must have run into the hole. Baby giraffe was done chasing the mouse and started to look for mommy giraffe.
But he couldn’t find where mommy giraffe had stopped to talk to her friends. Baby giraffe had run around so much that he became lost and couldn’t find his way back. Mommy giraffe was tall and her head was just above the top of the trees. But baby giraffe didn’t have a way to see above the trees to look for her.
Then baby giraffe was sad and started crying. A monkey came along and saw baby giraffe crying and asked what was the matter. Baby giraffe explained that it was lost and couldn’t find its mommy. The monkey said that it could help by climbing up to the top of a tree and looking for mommy giraffe from up high.
Baby giraffe stopped crying and thanked monkey for the good idea. Monkey climbed up high and got to the top of a tree, and looked all around in every direction. Then monkey saw mommy giraffe far away, and it looked like she was searching for baby giraffe. Monkey wanted to send a message to mommy giraffe, to tell her that baby giraffe was lost over here.
Monkey saw a bird sitting on a tree branch nearby. Monkey went to the bird, and asked the bird to fly to mommy giraffe and tell her that they found baby giraffe and would lead baby giraffe back to her. Bird said yes and flew above the trees and reached mommy giraffe. Bird told mommy giraffe that monkey had found baby giraffe and that they would bring him back to her.
And mommy giraffe said thanks to the bird and she waited near her friends. Then bird flew back to where monkey was sitting with baby giraffe. Bird said that it would fly above the trees and for monkey to follow bird, and for baby giraffe to follow monkey. Then bird flew up in the air and towards mommy giraffe.
Monkey jumped from tree to tree, watching where bird was flying in the sky. And baby giraffe walked below the trees, watching monkey jump from branch to branch. Finally, bird and monkey and baby giraffe arrived to where mommy giraffe was waiting. She was so glad to see baby giraffe again. And mommy giraffe hugged baby giraffe.
She asked where he had gone, and baby giraffe explained that it chased a mouse around the forest and became lost. And then baby giraffe said that monkey found him crying and got bird to help find her. Mommy giraffe thanked monkey and bird, and invited them to baby giraffe’s birthday party the next day. Monkey and bird said that would be very nice.
And then monkey and bird said goodbye and left. Then mommy giraffe said goodbye to her friends. Those friends left, and mommy giraffe continued walking with baby giraffe. This time baby giraffe stayed very close to mommy giraffe, as they walked back home, slowly slowly slowly.
